Email on your domain / Google Workspace

Google Workspace on your domain. The exact records.

The DNS records Google Workspace’s own docs ask for, so mail to you@yourdomain arrives and what you send isn’t marked as spam. Add them at your domain’s DNS provider, then check your domain live below.

  1. Add these records at your DNS provider

“@” means the domain itself. MX records receive mail; SPF, DKIM and DMARC prove that mail you send is really yours.

    TypeNameValue
    MXReceive mail@smtp.google.comPriority 1
    TXTAllowed senders (SPF)@v=spf1 include:_spf.google.com ~all
TXTSigning key (DKIM)google._domainkeyCopy from the Google Admin consoleDifferent for every account: copy it from Google Workspace.
    TXTAnti-spoofing (DMARC)_dmarcv=DMARC1; p=none
  2. Good to know

Generate the DKIM key in the Admin console: Apps → Google Workspace → Gmail → Authenticate email.

The older five-record MX set (aspmx.l.google.com plus alt1–alt4) also works; keep it if Google’s setup added it.

A domain can have only one SPF record. If your app also sends email through another service, the two must be merged into one: add the service below and the check gives you the merged record.

  3. Check your domain

Type your domain: we read public DNS and show which Google Workspace records are in place, which are missing and which need to change.
