Registries set a wholesale price for each extension and registrars add their margin. When a registry raises its price, registrars usually pass it on within weeks. Here is what’s been announced and what our daily price checks have caught.

How price increases work

Generic extensions such as .com, .net, .org, .xyz, .dev and .app are run under contracts with ICANN. Registries must announce renewal increases months in advance, and you can renew at the current price before they apply.
Country-code extensions such as .io, .ai, .co and .me are set by their national registries. ICANN’s notice rules don’t apply to them.
A registration can run at most 10 years ahead. Renewing for several years before an increase locks in today’s price for those years.
Registrars can also change their own margins at any time. That is what the daily table above catches.
